Shipping & Delivery Policy

Van Winkle Mattress Co. is a local mattress retailer serving Ann Arbor and Southeast Michigan. We deliver using our own in-house delivery team rather than a third-party carrier, so the people bringing your mattress know how to handle and set up everything we sell.
 

Delivery area and fees
 

We deliver throughout Southeast Michigan and, for many orders, anywhere in Michigan. Delivery fees increase with distance from our Ann Arbor showroom to cover labor and fuel, so longer trips cost more. For an accurate delivery quote, call us at 734-665-8900.
 

Timing
 

For many in-stock items near Ann Arbor, we offer same-day or next-day delivery when scheduling allows. Availability depends on the item, your location, and the day's route. On delivery day, our team will call you when they are on the way from their previous stop. We work hard to stay within your delivery window, though traffic, weather, or earlier stops can occasionally cause delays.
 

Preparing for delivery
 

Please clear the path to the bedroom, including hallways, stairs, and doorways. Many modern mattresses are thicker than older models, so consider the finished height of your bed ahead of time.

Protecting your home

Our delivery team takes great care in your home. That said, moving large mattresses and furniture through doorways, hallways, stairwells, and tight corners carries some risk of minor scuffs or marks, especially with oversized items like king sets. We are not responsible for incidental marks or damage that can occur during normal delivery, or for damage caused by tight, narrow, or obstructed access. To help us protect your space, please clear the delivery path ahead of time and let us know in advance about narrow doorways, tight turns, or walls and floors that need extra care. If you do notice an issue after delivery, contact us and we will do our best to help make it right.
 

Old mattress removal
 

We can remove your old mattress when we deliver the new one for a fee that covers labor and proper disposal. Before scheduling, you may also want to check whether your local trash service offers mattress pickup or whether the set can be donated.
 

Pest policy
 

If there is an active bed bug or pest issue, our team cannot enter the home, complete the delivery, or remove an old mattress. This protects our staff, our vehicles, and other customers' bedding from the risk of spreading pests.
 

Boxed mattresses
 

Some models arrive compressed in a box and are opened and set up by our team. All of them are ready to use right away and but may continue to expand slightly over the first 24 hours.
